Balsam Peru Essential Oil
Balsam Peru (Myroxylon pereirae) solvent extracted bark, El Salvador. The balsam is a pathological product from older trees. It is a brown resin with a vanilla-type scent and a smoky odor. It's not a liquid, must be warmed in a double boiler prior to use for ease of dispensing. Natural fixative can make a little scent go a long way. Among its uses: anti-infective, on chafed skin to soothe, massage of muscles for circulation, inhalant for respiratory and immune systems, effective at relieving itch of scabies, ringworm and eczema, as well as for relieving chapped hands and feet. Exotic aroma, anchoring, strengthening and imparts a rich, earthy scent to perfumes.

2 drops frankincense oil
1 drop jasmine oil
1 drop ylang ylang oil

1 drop jasmine oil
1 drop ylang ylang oil
Blends well with: ylang-ylang, patchouli, petigrain, sandalwood, rose, spices, and floral and oriental bases.
Cautions: non toxic
It is pleasing fragrance makes it an ingredient for incense and perfumes, but it also has medicinal value. In India the oil is an ingredient in ointments for healing the skin and relieving pain. Use as part of a blend in a diffuser.
